I have 0% kept this blog updated BUT I will be at Flights of Foundry next week, mostly to make my indie TTRPG binge everybody else’s problem:

I’m vibrating with the opportunity to talk about game writing and how it differs from traditional fiction. Mystery RPGs in particular have to contend with the way player agency interferes with clue-finding, and lots of different indies have “solved” for this in lots of different ways.
And don’t worry, there will be mspaint-level political alignment charts.
Why have I been so deep in the itch.io mines in the first place? Because I’m lead writer for Wyrd Mist, a TTRPG forthcoming from Gameswell!

I’ve been pitching it as “Nancy Drew Twin Peaks.” You’re just some guy living in a little PNW town until weird magic shit starts happening in the woods. Other stylistic inspirations include Gravity Falls and The X-Files.
The playtest packet is available for download, and I’d love to hear your thoughts!
